Assessments PROVIDED

Diagnostic Clarification for DSM-5 Disorders

Helps to identify the correct mental health diagnosis. This is helpful in complex and unclear presentations of mental health issues, or when an official diagnosis is needed to access certain programs. In addition to helping patients clarify their diagnosis, physicians and other treatment providers can get a data-informed view of their patient's difficulties.

ADHD

Helps to determine if a person meets criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, how it presents specifically in a person, and what components are necessary for effective treatment. A brief outcomes-based assessment can also track symptoms and progress related to pharmacological treatment of ADHD.

Personality & Social-Emotional Adjustment

This helps to identify any personality, interpersonal, self-esteem, identity and emotional factors involved in a person's mental health difficulties. This can identify trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, mood and bipolar disorders, and other severe mental health conditions.

Miscellaneous Evaluations

There are many other areas of life where a psychological evaluation can help to shed light on the issues in question. These can include evaluations of fitness-for-duty and personnel screening in some occupations, general psychological evaluations of legally-involved persons, evaluations to understand one's mental health more clearly, to assess one's substance abuse patterns, to identify if psychological factors are involved in physical complaints, and other areas as well. Please contact my office if you have questions about how an evaluation might assist you.

Workers' Compensation Evaluations.

This type of evaluation assists a Designated Doctor to provide an Impairment Rating for the person being evaluated when the claim involves a possible mental health injury.

Autism in Adults

If you or another person (e.g., family member, spouse, therapist, physician) believe you show signs of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), it can be helpful to get a comprehensive assessment.

MMPI for Security Personnel

Do you need an evaluation for Level 3 (Commissioned Security Officer) or Level 4 (Personal Protection Officer) license as required by Texas state law? This brief evaluation consists of completing the MMPI and a clinical interview. Upon satisfactory completion, the PSP-13 form will be issued.

Treatment Planning & Outcome Tracking

Helps to identify factors that may impede the progress of mental health treatment, or to identify an evidence-based treatment direction. Also, whether you are a therapist or physician, if you want to get a data-informed view of your patient's progress, a brief assessment can provide this.

Identification of Intellectual Disability

Helps to identify if a person has an intellectual disorder or disability. This is necessary for access to certain services and programs. Intellectual deficits may also be a primary factor related to behavioral problems or other mental health  difficulties.

Other Neurocognitive Deficits

This helps to identify deficits in abilities associated with brain function that impact behavior. This could be visual-spatial, memory, visual-motor integration, executive functioning, or perception. Deficits in any of these areas could contribute to behavioral and mental health struggles.
